G8 Education raises over $200,000 for childhood cancer research
Leading early childhood education and care provider G8 Education raised over $200,000 for childhood cancer research after a series of targeted fundraising events held in August of this year.
The effort was part of the 42k Your Way virtual marathon fundraising challenge and saw team BBQs, dress up days and walk-a-thons as some of the creative ways that G8 rallied their 430 plus strong service community to get behind the cause.
The Group’s national network rose to the challenge, raising an $200,890, inclusive of a generous $40,000 corporate donation from G8 Education, for world-leading research at the Ian Frazer Centre for Children’s Immunotherapy Research and the Children’s Brain Cancer Centre.
Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO, Lyndsey Rice thanked G8 Education for their incredible support.
“Throughout 42k Your Way, I’ve personally witnessed G8 Education’s dedication and enthusiasm to the cause,” Ms Rice said.
“Their commitment to fundraising, even in challenging circumstances, has been nothing short of extraordinary.”
“With the support of partners like G8 Education, we can fund the research that’s needed to drastically improve children’s cancer treatment and survival rates and create a better future for kids with cancer,” she added.
