G8 appoints new Chief Operating Officer as new Chief Information Officer starts

G8 Education has confirmed that Shane Dann has been appointed as the Group’s new Chief Operating Officer, whilst Calvin Goulding, G8’s new Chief Information Officer, commences his role. 

Mr Dann’s appointment will mark the end of a search process that commenced in mid March when Malcom Ashcroft, his predecessor, notified the company of his intention to leave for personal reasons. 

Mr Dann will join G8 having spent ten months as Interim CEO/COO at New Zealand based early childhood education and care provider Evolve Education Group, a role he assumed after the business was sold to Australian private equity firm Anchorage Capital. 

Prior to working at Evolve Mr Dann spent five and a half years at Brisbane headquartered Affinity Education Group as their Chief Operating Officer. 

It is understood that Mr Dann will commence his new role in early September 2023. 

In additional news Calvin Goulding has confirmed that he will be joining G8 as their new Chief Information Officer, replacing long time team member Peter Nelson who left earlier this month. 

Mr Goulding has a wide range of commercial and corporate experience in similar roles having most recently been the Head of Transport Technology for Transurban and prior to that he spent seven years at Flight Centre Travel Group in a number of senior roles including, Global Chief Technology Officer as well as divisional roles as Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
