Kimberly-Clark Australia’s work with G8 Education lands sustainability award

Kimberly-Clark Australia has been named a Sustainability Leader in the Australian Financial Review’s National Sustainability Leaders Awards for 2023 for its work on an Australian-first initiative in conjunction with G8 Education.
The Nappy Loop Recycling Program launched in July 2022, and connects nappy brand Huggies, the national science agency CSIRO, one of South Australia’s largest composters, Peats Soils and Garden Supplies, early learning and care provider G8 Education, and APR Plastics.
Should it be scalable, the program has the potential to address the environmental impact of the 1.5 billion disposable nappies sent to landfill each year.
Speaking with Retail World Magazine, Kimberly-Clark ANZ Managing Director Belinda Driscoll said the company is “incredibly proud of the project and excited to see it being awarded a national sustainability honour”.
The National Sustainability Leaders Awards recognise the commitment of leading businesses and not-for-profit organisations to sustainability in Australia, focusing on programs and initiatives that impact environmental and/or societal change while also meeting business outcomes.
