ACYWA logo competition needs contributions from children and young people
The Australian Child and Youth Wellbeing Atlas (ACYWA) needs a new logo, and to make that happen, organisers are seeking contributions from those aged 0-24 years of age.
The logo will be used on a dynamic online platform that offers a comprehensive place-based view of the health and wellbeing of children across Australia. Its creators hope it will serve as a valuable resource for the community, researchers, and policy makers in government to better understand children and young people’s health and make informed decisions based on the available data.
In considering designs and creations, ACYWA would like designers to consider incorporating visual elements that symbolise data, connectivity, health, and youthfulness.
The competition aims to showcase the diverse perspectives of young people aged 0-24 years on health and wellbeing, whilst encouraging participants to express their unique visions of what health and wellbeing mean to them through their art.
“Whether it’s a digital creation, hand-drawn illustration, painting, chalk art, or crayon masterpiece, we welcome all forms of media,” a spokesperson said.
“We want to celebrate the creativity and imagination of young minds while exploring your personal views on what makes for a healthy life. All skill levels are welcome to participate!”
There are a number of prizes on offer including a 9th generation iPad with 256GB storage, noise cancelling headphones, and gift vouchers.
All participants will have the opportunity to engage in a live Q&A session with the Creative Director of NeuroPower™ Group.
Entries for children over three years of age must be independently created. For children under three years of age, practical help from parents, carers, teachers, or other adults is permitted.
Participants are encouraged to use any medium such as digital tools, hand-drawn illustrations, paintings, chalk art, crayons, water colours, or any other creative medium.
Submissions should be in a digital format (JPEG, PNG, or PDF) or a clear photograph/scan of the physical artwork that can be submitted via email. Physical artwork cannot be accepted. Submissions should be high-resolution (where possible – at least 300 dpi), and no larger than 10MB.
Each submission can be accompanied by a brief description (up to 50 words) explaining how the artwork represents your perspective on health and wellbeing.
The competition closes on Monday 26 June at 5pm. Winners will be announced on Friday 7 July. By participating in the competition, individuals grant the organisers the right to use, reproduce, and publish their submitted artworks for promotional and non-commercial purposes.
