ECT in NSW? Apply now for Premier’s Early Childhood Education Scholarship

Early childhood teachers (ECTs) in New South Wales are being invited to apply for a $15,000 scholarship opportunity to study any aspect of early childhood education.

 

One scholarship of $15,000 will be offered for travel during 2024. Study tour travel is to be completed in one block between 1 January and 30 September 2024, with individual follow-up activities and reporting to be completed within 90 days of study tour completion.

 

Open to degree-qualified ECTs (provided the degree is recognised by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority) who are currently teaching in early childhood education and care (ECEC) services in NSW, the scholarship will enable the recipient to undertake a study tour and follow-up activities of up to five weeks internationally or within Australia. 

 

The scholarship recipient is encouraged to share the findings of their completed scholarship project at conferences and through other mediums, including delivering a session as part of the Early Childhood Education and Care Roadshow (or equivalent).

 

Time may involve formal study (for example, undertaking a short course at a respected tertiary institution) or may involve a program of visits to sites, schools and institutions to conduct interviews, observe exemplary practices and collect resources for the preparation of teaching materials related to the specific scholarship category.

 

A portion of time (up to one week) may be allocated toward follow-up dissemination activities (for example, experience-sharing, professional learning) within and across NSW, either in-person or virtually.
