Tasmania takes next step in providing Universal Access to early learning

Tasmania is progressing its agenda to provide universal access to early learning for all three year olds in the state by establishing a co-design group with parents, community members and service providers, and committing to workshops to learn more about stakeholder needs.
“These workshops are an opportunity for families and stakeholders to have a say on the future of quality and affordable early learning for three year olds,” said Education, Children and Youth Minister Roger Jaensch.
“We know early learning gives children the best possible start in life and we are proud to support our youngest learners on this lifelong journey.”
Since January, the Co-Design Planning Group has been communicating with early childhood education and care (ECEC) providers to establish how to best engage with all stakeholders including families and local communities.
“I would like to thank the Planning Group’s chairs, Ros Cornish and Jenny Burgess, and members from Early Childhood Australia, the Australian Childcare Alliance, Independent Schools Tasmania, Catholic Education Tasmania and Family Day Care, for their ongoing work,” Minister Jaensch said.
“We will continue to work collaboratively with stakeholders such as ECEC providers to ensure we understand local community needs.”
