New Broome North ECEC service to be run by TysonJoe Pty Ltd
Accredited early childhood education and care (ECEC) service operators TysonJoe Pty Ltd have been chosen to deliver and operate a new ECEC service in the Waranyjarri Estate in Broome North.
The site for the service is located opposite the eleventh stage of homesites on the estate, in proximity to the Broome North Primary School.
The announcement of TysonJoe Pty Ltd was made by WA Lands Minister John Carey earlier this month, with Mr Carey noting that the provider is “an experienced developer and accredited child care centre (sic.) operator, who currently run the Piney Lakes Childcare and Kennedy Kids Childcare in Perth.”
“This development will deliver a range of highly valued services to this family-focused community and the wider town of Broome,” Mr Carey said.
Following a national Request for Proposal, TysonJoe Pty Ltd are currently finalising negotiations for a joint venture partnership for the centre with Nyamba Buru Yawuru (NBY) – the operational company of the Yawuru people, who are the Traditional Owners of the land and waters in and around Broome.
The service will occupy a 2,256 square metre site on the corner of Yako Mall and Shingoro Street adjacent to the Broome North Primary School. Initial plans submitted for the centre include offering 85 places for long day care for children aged six weeks to six years of age.
The new centre, which is expected to open its doors to families by mid-2025 is located next to the recent release of Stage 11 residential lots at Waranyjarri Estate.
The Waranyjarri Estate currently has 12 lots for social housing, 11 lots for Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH), along with available homesites ranging in size from 480 sqm to 784sqm and prices starting from $183,000.
