TLC Healthcare has launched a multi-generational healthcare precinct in the Victorian bayside suburb of Mordialloc, bringing together all the services TLC operates into one co-located site.

The site offers 147 residential aged care places, a community medical centre, a 118-place early learning centre, a commercial health club with a 20m indoor swimming pool, and a commercial café.

“We’re challenging outdated views of what healthcare can look like. Our healthcare precinct caters to everyone, regardless of their life stage,” TLC CEO Lou Pascuzzi said.

“Imagine you’re a Mum or Dad; you can drop off the kids at the Early Learning centre, grab a coffee or a protein shake at The Village Café, head into the health club for a workout, yoga or pilates class, see your GP at our medical centre, then go and visit one of your parents if we’re fortunate enough to be caring for them at our Whitewater aged care home.”

Children in the early learning centre will interact with aged care residents through an intergenerational program developed in collaboration with Melbourne University and Griffith University

The local community will be able to access the facilities of the service too, opening up the early learning environment to the broader community in an integrated fashion.

“Delivering such in-demand, multi-generational services that are co-located provides crucial levels of comfort and security, not only to families of our residents in Whitewater aged care, but to parents of children who attend our early centre, and people who exercise in our health club, as in the event they may need medical attention, they can be treated right here at our medical centre,” Mr Pascuzzi added.

A formal launch event for the service took place on the 16th of December, with the cafe opening on the 19th of December.

The medical centre will open in January 2023, with the early learning service to open in late January or early February 2023, with open days for the precinct to be held 4 and 5 February.
