FROEBEL Australia brings sustainable period products freely to its team members
Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider FROEBEL Australia will make sustainable period products freely available to all team members at its FROEBEL Early Learning Centres in what is believed to be a first for an Australian ECEC provider.
FROEBEL Australia made the decision to supply Pixii products in each of its services as Pixii is an Australian-owned and operated social enterprise that gives back 50 per cent of its profits to charity, towards education and menstrual hygiene programs for underprivileged girls.
Pixii has a vision to encourage employers to think of period products as an essential part of stocking a shared bathroom space, in the same way that soap and toilet paper are provided.
“Statistics show that most women have been caught out at work or in public without a period product when they need it. It’s about time that workplaces provide these products just like other hygiene fundamentals, and we’re proud to be leading that charge,” a FROEBEL spokesperson said.
Pixii products are 100 per cent organic, and completely plastic-free. All packaging is plant based, recycled, recyclable and/or biodegradable and the entire operation, from cotton farm to bathrooms, is climate positive/carbon negative.
