KU Children’s Services to launch five short films to honour 125 years of service

Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider KU Children’s Services will launch five short films at private screening events in Sydney and Melbourne later this month to conclude the celebrations of their 125-year anniversary.
The short films will recognise and celebrate 125 years since KU was founded and early childhood education in Australia began.The private events will be held at The Ritz Cinema in Randwick, Sydney on Thursday 10 November and at the Palace Westgarth in Northcote, Melbourne on Wednesday 16 November.
Invitations to the screenings have been extended to special guests including Members of Parliament, the KU Board and Executive Teams, KU Life Members and distinguished guests from the sector.
“We’re excited and proud to be releasing these five short films which will highlight KU’s 125-year history of making a difference in the lives of children, families and communities through our high-quality early education and care programs and social impact initiatives,” said KU Children’s Services CEO Christine Legg.
“The short films feature interviews with leaders from the sector and KU staff and Board Members, both past and present, and focus on the themes of play, educators, inclusion, investing in early education and being a voice for change.”
“We’re delighted to finally be able to share these beautifully produced films with KU and the wider community and for people to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of KU’s past, present and future.”
As face-to-face celebrations were put on hold due to the impact of COVID-19 in 2020, KU instead chose to create these short films to showcase their rich and diverse history, with production being handled by Sydney-based company Tall Story Films.
The private screening events will conclude KU’s 125-year anniversary celebrations and the public will be able to view the films via digital channels as they are rolled out from late November.
