Understanding Children’s Behaviour – free professional development for NSW ECEC

Early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals in New South Wales are invited to take part in a free 12-month professional development opportunity centred on understanding children’s behaviour, being delivered by Phoenix Support for Educators, and funded through the NSW Department of Education’s Sector Development Program.
The eligibility criteria to participate in the course is straightforward. Participants must be an educator employed in an education and care service in New South Wales, Australia.
Consisting of 18 lessons which are accessible for 12 months, the course has six live webinars and six Q&A webinars, which will be recorded and uploaded for self-paced access.
Topics covered in the course include:
- Children’s emotional development
- Children’s brain development
- Connections with children
- Supporting a child’s behaviour
- Working together with families and communities.
The course commences in November, with topic one – Children’s Emotional Development – to be explored during a webinar on Thursday 3 November at 6:30pm, AEDT, followed by a Live Q&A at 7pm, AEDT, on Thursday 17 November.
