Uniting will continue to offer two days of free preschool in 2023
All Uniting NSW.ACT Preschools will continue to offer families two days per week free Preschool in 2023 in a bid to ensure that every child and family is able to access affordable, quality early childhood education and care (ECEC) no matter their circumstances or where they live.
While the current funding ends in 2022, the Early Years Commitment from the NSW Government includes ongoing funding of Affordable Preschool starting in 2023 – an investment of $1.3 billion over four years to provide fee-relief for families with children in preschool.
“Uniting has chosen to use the new funding to continue providing two free days in our Preschools to families allowing more children to access quality early education supporting children’s educational and development outcomes,” Uniting NSW.ACT Head of Early Learning Rod Nadwie-Smith said.
“By making this announcement now, Uniting is leading the way by demonstrating its commitment to families that it values the importance of continuity of care and wants to reassure families that we value making quality early education available and affordable to everyone,” he added.
“We’re deeply committed to inclusivity and equal access for all, and value every child as an individual. Through the power of community and support for all families, we help children to unlock and reach their full potential.”
