Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider Young Academics will sponsor an annual charity luncheon event hosted by The Workplace – Employment Lawyers supporting Dress for Success Sydney

Dress for Success Sydney is a volunteer-powered, impact-driven grassroots charity that improves the employment prospects of women across New South Wales by providing a holistic suite of practical career development services. This includes their signature interview styling and presentation skills offering, career support workshops, and one-on-one job preparation services – all free of charge – to help vulnerable women enter, re-enter and thrive in the workforce.

“This is a meaningful opportunity for the Young Academics community to engage with a reputable charity where we can help make a measurable difference in the lives of disadvantaged women,” said Founder and Managing Director James Kazzi.

“As a family-focused business, we understand how challenging it can be to return to the workforce after taking time out, and we can only imagine the added difficulty of seeking employment for those experiencing disadvantage. We have chosen to support Dress for Success Sydney as a proactive way to support women in their career development, and to provide hands-on volunteering and team-building opportunities with purpose to our Young Academics staff as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program.”

Mr Kazzi said the provider was “delighted” to work with a charity making an impact in many of the communities where it operates, and by the opportunity to work side-by-side with the passionate management teams at Dress for Success Sydney and The Workplace – Employment Lawyers.

Leisa Sadler, Dress for Success Sydney CEO, said the charity is “genuinely grateful” for the support extended by Young Academics, and appreciates the importance of imbedding in young minds the value of early learning.

“We encourage our clients to embrace the mindset of lifelong learning to create better opportunities for every woman,” Ms Sadler said.

“I personally look forward to furthering our engagement with the Young Academics team to help us empower women into financial freedom.”

Young Academics will kick off its support as the major sponsor of an annual charity luncheon hosted by The Workplace – Employment Lawyers to raise funds for Dress for Success Sydney on 23 September2022.

This year, the Minister for Early Childhood Education The Hon Dr Anne Aly MP will join business and industry leaders including Telstra Chair John Mullen, Founder and Director of The Creative Co-operative Priyanka Ashraf, and Co-Founder of The Daily Aus Zara Seidler, for a lively panel discussion about the importance of equality and empowering women to achieve economic independence.

Additionally, Young Academics employees will be given the opportunity to volunteer on-site with Dress for Success Sydney and hold clothing drives across the company’s early learning centres.

In this way, enrolled families can be authentically involved and demonstrate their support for the women receiving Dress for Success’ valuable services.

A special page has been set up as a one stop fundraising shop for Dress for Success via its partnership with Young Academics, which may be accessed here
