Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) has announced its 2022 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards Star Award Winners

The Emerging and Perpetual Star Awards recognise educators, coordinators and services that are new to the sector and those who have shown dedication over several years.

The Emerging Star Award celebrates an educator, coordinator and service that is new to the family day care sector but has made a big impact in a short amount of time. The Emerging Star Award is presented to an educator, coordinator and service that commenced their role/business in the past two years.

In 2022 Chloe Weir of Windermere Family Day Care in Victoria is the Educator Emerging Star, while Kylie Smith of Excellence in FDC Queensland has been named Coordinator Emerging Star and Garden Play Family Day Care has been named in the Service Emerging Star category.

The Perpetual Star Award honours an educator, coordinator and service that have contributed to the family day care sector for a significant period of time and continues to thrive. The Perpetual Star Award is presented to an educator, coordinator and service that has worked in the family day care sector for more than 15 years.

Perpetual Stars in 2022 are Kylie Graetz, Uniting Family Day Care Wimmera, Victoria in the Educator category, Karen Beech, Campbelltown Family Day Care, New South Wales in the Coordinator category and Maitland Family Day Care, New South Wales in the Service category.

In the coming weeks FDCA will be announcing its 2022 National Finalists ahead of a gala dinner on 17 September where the National winners will be announced.

Now in their eleventh year, the Awards shine a light on the incredible early childhood education and care experiences provided to more than 90,800 children, in natural and nurturing home learning environments across the country.
