Children in years five and six from Edward Public School (EPS) have been visiting Deniliquin Preschool each Tuesday, as part of their Building Relationships in the Community unit.

The students walk from their school to the preschool and spend 45 minutes with the younger children, making friends and building relationships within their community.

Kristy Tremble, a teacher at EPS. said the students are enjoying revisiting their youth and spending time with younger children.

“They enjoy playing with playdough, painting, playing dress ups, hide and seek, tag, playing in the sandpit and performing puppet shows for the younger kids,” she told local news source Shepparton News.

Over the coming weeks the EPS students will use technology to connect with their young friends, all part of their unit which aims to introduce the students to people and organisations in the community, helping them to forge friendships and build relationships.
