Illawarra’s Academy of Learning celebrates win in local business awards

Illawarra’s Academy of Learning is celebrating its local business award win in which it was recognised for providing high quality education and care which celebrates the holistic development of children.
Winning the award, Director Christine Giles said, reinforced that the small boutique services, of which there are three in the chain, provide a service which is about more than just education and care.
“Our dedicated and enthusiastic team provides children and families a safe, warm, welcoming, adopting and nurturing environment,” she said, explaining that the service aims to give children self help skills, independence and confidence while participating in a co-construction of learning.
Resilience, fun and growth are core drivers of the service, and Ms Giles said the team believes that needs of each individual child should be taken into consideration when developing a program of learning.
“Our educators establish and maintain positive and respectful relationships with children, families and surrounding primary schools to allow for a smoother transition to school,” she said.
Illawarra Academy of Early Learning is also excited to announce that it has recently become finalists in the Excellence in Early Childhood Education Awards in the following categories:
- Regional and Rural excellence award – Small Private Centre,
- Team Excellence Award – Regional Service,
- Educational Program Excellence,
- Young Female Excellence Award,
- Educational Leader Excellence Award and
- Female Excellence Award.
“We are proud of our achievements and being part of an amazing community,” Ms Giles said in closing. To access the original coverage of this story please see here.
