Unanimous approval for two storey ECEC service in Landsdale
A $2.1 million early childhood education and care (ECEC) service in Perth has received unanimous approval by the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel.
The two-storey building will be constructed on a site which is earmarked for residential development in Landsdale, catering to 100 children and 16 staff, operating from 6am – 7pm on weekdays.
A subdivision application then proposes to create 34 residential lots with the remainder of the site. City of Wanneroo officers had recommended the application be approved by the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel, stating it was “generally compliant with the relevant planning requirements” and changes had been made to address some design concerns, Perth Now reported.
Design concerns addressed included providing more landscaping in the front setback and verge to shield the carpark from the street, and planting more shade trees on the site. The officers report in relation to the development application noted the design had aimed to minimise impact on adjoining properties, and was a complementary land use for the evolving residential suburb.
