Alan Tudge stood down pending outcome of investigation, Stuart Robert to stand in

Less than 12 months after his appointment to the role of Federal Education Minister Alan Tudge has been stood down from his position whilst an investigation is conducted into allegations made by his former media advisor, Rachelle Miller, in relation to his conduct during an extramarital relationship.
In response to the allegations being raised Prime Minister Scott Morrison referred the matter to an investigation, to be conducted by Vivienne Thom, former inspector-general of intelligence and security.
For the duration of the investigation, responsibility for Minister Tudge’s portfolio will sit with Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, Stuart Robert, who assumed his position in March this year.
It is understood at this stage that Minister Tudge will continue to contest in the upcoming Federal Election, which must be held on or before 21 May 2022.
