Nominations invited for 2021 Australian Training Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2021 Australian Training Awards, the peak national awards for recognising excellence in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Individuals, employers and organisations who are examples of excellence in the VET sector are recognised through the Awards process, which is open to all sectors and industries, including early childhood education and care (ECEC).
As well as rewarding excellence, the Awards process offers an important opportunity for promoting the benefits of quality VET experiences, something of particular importance to ECEC as workforce shortage challenges persist.
“It’s a chance to shine a spotlight on those making a difference, while celebrating the resilience of the VET sector in what’s been a challenging year,” an Awards spokesperson said.
This year includes a new award category for outstanding achievement in the VET and skills sector, recognising an individual’s outstanding leadership and contribution for more than 15 years.
Individuals, businesses and registered training organisations can nominate directly for the following categories:
- Australian Apprenticeships — Employer Award
- School Pathways to VET Award
- Small Employer of the Year Award
- Excellence in Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice Award.
Finalists from these categories will join state and territory training award apprentice, trainee and VET trainer winners to compete for a national award title.
Winners from all categories will be announced on Thursday 18 November 2021 at the Australian Training Awards which will be held in Perth, Western Australia.
National finalists are invited to become a member of the exclusive Australian VET Alumni (Alumni). The Alumni are a community of high achieving VET graduates, VET leaders and practitioners, businesses, schools and training providers committed to sharing their story of success in VET.
A video has been prepared outlining the benefits of applying for an Australian Training Award.
Nominations close 30 June 2021. To apply visit the Australian Training Awards website.
