OSHC establishment grants now open in Victoria
Round One of the Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Establishment Grant initiative opened earlier this week, offering a funding opportunity for Victorian Government schools who are delivering primary aged education and who do not have an existing OSHC program.
The initiative aims to address the accessibility of OSHC services for Victorian families, ensuring that OSHC is available to all children and families in the state, either onsite at their school, or within their local area.
Four application rounds will be available between 2021 and 2023. The first round, which opened on 27 January 2021, will see the Victorian Department of Education provide grants of up to $75,000 to at least 50 schools to support the establishment of new OSHC services.
Funding will be paid directly to schools, and schools are able to enter into contracts with third party providers for the delivery of their OSHC programs.
In some instances, where an application involves a cluster of schools containing more than one eligible Victorian Government school, a cap of $150,000 will be applied.
A fact sheet (login required) has been prepared about the Grants, alongside the application guidelines.
Grants are to be submitted by the SmartyGrants application page.
