SCECS OSHC Holy Spirit Carnes Hill celebrates exceeding rating after one year operating
The Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) team are celebrating after their Holy Spirit Carnes Hill Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service was awarded an exceeding rating by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) in its first year of operation.
The rating, SCECS CEO Franceyn O’Connor explained, “speaks to the talent and passion our staff hold, and to the professional development and support our management team provides.”
Mrs O’Connor said the rating was also a reflection of the continuous improvement culture within SCECS, and the strong collaborative relationships the organization has formed with children, families, the school and the broader community.
Nominated supervisor Belinda Rixon described the result as “reassuring” and one which showcases a commitment to quality by SCECS.
“Our aim is always to create a safe and nurturing space so that children are engaged and confident to explore their interests, build their skills and competencies and make wonderful life-long memories of their time with SCECS, with the support of qualified and passionate educators,” Mrs O’Connor added.
As an agency of the Catholic Church, SCECS serves parish and school communities within the Sydney Archdiocese, and operates OSHC, preschool and long day care services.
SCECS OSHC Holy Spirit Carnes Hill has been operating for just over 12 months, offering care for school-aged children, specifically before and after hours care for children attending Holy Spirit Catholic Primary Carnes Hill and programs over the school holidays which are open to all school aged children from surrounding areas.
