Nominations for Vic Honour Roll of Women now open, chance to showcase ECEC
The Victorian Government is encouraging Victorians to nominate the inspirational women in their lives for the 2021 Victorian Honour Roll of Women, offering a wonderful opportunity to highlight the work done by women in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector.
Reflecting the challenges of the 2020 that was, the 2021 Awards will include a special category – Leading Through Disaster – to recognise those who have demonstrated leadership in the community through the 2020 bushfires and the pandemic.
“This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Honour Roll – it’s more important than ever to support and honour inspiring women because there can be no gender equality without their leadership,” Victorian Minister for Women, Gabrielle Williams said.
Since the inception of the honour roll, in 2001, more than 600 women have been inducted, recognised for their significant and lasting contributions to Victoria, Australia and beyond, and reflects the diversity of women of all ages, faiths, ethnicities, sexual identities and disabilities.
Nominations are open until Sunday, 31 January 2020. For information about the latest inductees or to nominate a woman for the 2021 Honour Roll, please see here.
