US family engagement platform Ready Rosie acquired by leading curriculum creator
Texas-based Ready Rosie, a company that uses a combination of mobile friendly tools, video tutorials and in-person family workshops to bring families closer to their children’s in-centre experiences, has been acquired by Teaching Strategies LLC, a leading provider of curriculum, assessment and professional development resources.
The deal will see Ready Rosie become part of Teaching Strategies range of services, increasing their reach and creating an opportunity for them to align their content to Teaching Strategies bespoke curricula.
Teaching Strategies has particular capability in this area, borne out of the absence of a standardised early childhood education and care (ECEC) curriculum in the United States which has in turn fostered the creation of a range of different types of curriculum provided often by private companies.
This differs somewhat to the Australian experience where the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework provide a basis for ECEC curriculum creation and delivery which has largely negated the need for the private sector to innovate in this space.
The Ready Rosie engagement platform reaches more than 6,500 Head Start programs, childcare centres and elementary schools across the US and is best known for its ‘Modeled moment’ videos that demonstrate fun, easy activities families can do at home to build on classroom learning.
They can be delivered to families via text, email and app in either English or Spanish.
Teaching Strategies is best known for its Creative Curriculum Solutions that support teachers and caregivers to create daily routines and meaningful learning experiences for preschool children and family day carers.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
