Evolve Education Group appoints Hamish Stevens as new independent director

New Zealand-based Evolve Education Group has confirmed that Hamish Stevens has been appointed as a director of the company with immediate effect.
Mr Stevens has extensive board experience and is currently Chair of East Health Services Ltd and a director at Marsden Maritime Holdings, Pacific Radiology Group, Pharmaco and Counties Power where he also Chairs the Audit Committee.
In addition, Mr Stevens is the Independent Chair of Waikato Regional Council’s Audit and Risk Committee and is an active member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
Prior to embarking on a career in governance, Mr Stevens was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of DB Breweries for over 11 years where he also served as General Manager – International Business, and was CFO of Tip Top Ice Cream Co, New Zealand’s largest ice cream company.
Mr Stevens’ appointment will fill an independent director vacancy on the board after Norah Barlow transitioned to acting Chair in the wake of the company’s previous chairman Alistair Ryan’s retirement from the business.
Commenting on the appointment Ms Barlow said “We are delighted that Hamish will be joining the board and we look forward to his contribution as we consolidate the business and move forward in the next phase of our development.”
