Learning Care Group Inc (LCG) has announced that Barbara J Beck will retire from her position as Chief Executive Officer on 30 June 2019 and Mark Bierley, the company’s current President and Chief Operating Officer, will be promoted to replace Ms Beck.

US based LCG, owns and operates over 900 centres across 36 states, the District of Columbia and internationally, and has the capacity to serve more than 130,000 children a day.

Ms Beck has been with the Group since March 2011 and has been “instrumental in transforming the early education experience of families attending LCG services and ensuring a sustainable platform for success underwrites the future of the organisation” according to the statement released by the company.

In particular, it is worth noting the following key signature offerings that have been introduced under Ms Beck’s leadership, the Group said:

  • proprietary curricula, individually customised to each child, to prepare children for academic, physical and social success

  • innovative technologies that enhance safety, enrich learning, and provide convenience and connectivity for busy families

  • an emphasis on sustainability, teaching children how to nurture the planet while investing in products and technologies to reduce LCG’s carbon footprint

Commenting on the news Ms Beck said, “It has been a true privilege to lead this dedicated team of caring professionals who are so committed to serving our families while preparing their children for success in school and in life,” “I am incredibly proud of the strong performance LCG has delivered throughout my tenure and remain fully confident in the company’s future success under Mark Bierley’s leadership.”

Ms Beck’s successor, Mr Brierly joined LCG in 2012 as Chief Financial Officer. Speaking about the transition, he added “I joined LCG because I wanted to be part of a company that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of children every day and enables these future leaders to achieve their full potential.”

LCG was established over 50 years ago and provides early education and care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years through seven brands: Childtime Learning Centers, The Children’s Courtyard, Creative Kids Learning Centers, Everbrook Academy, La Petite Academy, Montessori Unlimited, and Tutor Time Child Care/Learning Centers. LCG is headquartered in Novi, Michigan.
