Chemists’ Own has partnered to raise money for ECEC

December 05, 2018

More than 300 pharmacies across Australia have participated in the Chemists’ Own campaign to raise money for local early learning centres across the country.

Over the counter brand Chemists’ Own ran its national ‘Help Us Help Our Local Community’ initiative from August until December this year.

Participating pharmacies were supported by Chemists’ Own to raise money for their chosen centre through in-store donation boxes and sales of the Chemists’ Own Children’s Range.

There were 336 pharmacies in total that participated in the fundraising event this year.

As part of the initiative, the brand released a children’s activity book that was distributed to over 1,000 early learning centres and participating pharmacies nationally.

This month, one pharmacy from each state was also chosen to receive a $1,000 Educational Experience voucher to donate to their early learning centre of choice.

Chemists’ Own has now announced the state winners across the country:

  • NSW: Greta Pharmacy, raising funds for Tillys Play & Development Centre

  • VIC: Yea Pharmacy, raising funds for Yea Preschool

  • TAS: Warrane Pharmacy, raising funds for Cambridge Rd Play & Learn Centre

  • QLD: Stratford Village Pharmacy, raising funds for Redlynch Daycare Centre

  • SA: Loxton Guardian Pharmacy, raising funds for Loxton Preschool Centre

  • WA: Rangeway Guardian Pharmacy, raising funds for Magic Cottage Child Care Centre

This marks the fourth year Chemists’ Own has run its Help Us initiative.

Last year the campaign focused on fundraising for local charities more broadly, and raised over $10,000 across the country.

“We have elected for early learning centres to be the beneficiaries of pharmacy fundraising efforts this year because of the vital role they play in our community in caring for our children,” says Stephanie Calapa, Chemists’ Own Brand Manager.

“Help Us was designed to lend a helping hand to organisations that perform important work within their communities, and there’s no work more important than the nurturing and development of young children.”

This year’s emphasis builds upon Chemists’ Own’s continued dedication to supporting early learning centres, with the brand contributing to the award of $85,000 to The Hills Montessori at the 2018 Australian Early Education and Care Awards earlier in June.

AJP congratulates all participating pharmacies and state winners for their fundraising work this year.
