Many educators are aware of loose parts and have incorporated them into their program, but how much do we understand about loose parts theory?

This session will unpack the Theory of Loose Parts to enable you to:

-Understand how loose parts can promote discovery, exploration, investigation and problem solving through opportunities for inquiry based learning
-Translate the theory into practice to promote children’s active involvement in their learning
-Reflect on the use of learning environments to support the use of Loose Parts

NESA Accredited PD

Completing Loose Parts Play will contribute 2 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework addressing standard descriptors 1.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

  • Teachers attending this session must provide their NESA Teacher Accreditation number to CELA.
