Overview

The development of children is supported through a myriad of relationships at home, in school and out in the social world. For children with experiences of abuse and neglect and living in Out of Home Care, professionals are added to this mix. All of these make up the systems in a child’s village.

This workshop supports participants to reflect on how well the systems they work within are functioning, and how this in turn impacts on outcomes for the child. Particular attention is given to commonly-occurring dynamics in Care Teams.

 

Key learnings

• How working as a part of a system can be therapeutic, including the therapeutic dosing principle and eco-mapping
• Considerations for working in a culturally safe manner, particularly with Aboriginal children and families
• Understanding the impact of stress on the brain and our ability to function in groups, including useful approaches.

Time: 9:30am – 4pm (AEST)
Cost: $335.00 (incl. GST)

Webinars: A full refund will be issued for cancellations up until 3 days prior. No refunds will be issued after this date however substitutions are welcome. Should Berry Street cancel a webinar for any reason, those registered at this time will be entitled to a full refund of registration fees.

In-person Workshops: A full refund will be issued for cancellations up until 7 days prior. No refunds will be issued after this date however substitutions are welcome.
