Under the Volcano – Understanding children’s emotions and behaviours, knowing how to respond, not react
Have you ever wondered what causes a volcano to erupt?
This session provides an overview of brain development, theories of child development as well as hands-on, engaging activities that draw us into a child’s perspective on what’s occurring behind their behaviours. We will learn how to look more deeply at children’s behaviour and to think about what causes the eruption.
With a focus on realistic and practical strategies, this session is designed as a starting point for educators wanting to build their skills around understanding and working with children’s behaviour.
Completing Under the Volcano – Understanding children’s emotions and behaviours, knowing how to respond, not react will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW
