The sessions will be held over a range of workshops, seminars and keynotes led by experts in the field.

 

Dr. Susan Baum, Professor Emeritus from College of New Rochelle; Director of the 2e Center for Research and Professional Development at Bridges Academy; and Provost for Academics at Bridges Graduate School.

 

Rose Blucher, M.Ed., Director of Blucher Educational Services; has delivered the Teaching the GT/LD course at Johns Hopkins University; served on the Maryland Advisory Council for Gifted Education and the Board of the Association for the Education of Gifted Underachieving Students; and is currently on the Board of the 2e Center for Research and Professional Development.

 

Anne Jackson, Director of Education and Counselling at Kids Like Us; and Doctoral Student at The Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education, Los Angeles.

 

Dr. Kate Jacobs, Educational Psychologist, Lecturer and Researcher in the Faculty of Education at Monash University; member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the APS College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists and SPELD’s expert working group; committee member of the APS Psychologists in Schools Interest Group.

 

Chris Varney, Founder and Chief Enabling Officer at the I CAN Network.

 

Topic Overview:

Living and working with a differently-wired student, those who are gifted, ASD, ADHD, with learning differences etc. What does it mean to be 2e-friendly? Explore different pathways to success. What is our role in influencing a shift towards 2e-friendly environments? Emphasis will be on the positives of all gifted and 2e students.

 

The conference will include an optional early registration and evening BBQ on Friday evening to provide a networking opportunity.
