The impact of early childhood trauma on children in OoHC
Early Childhood LOOKOUT training is targeted for Early Childhood Teachers, Educators and Services offering Kindergarten programs in Victoria, Australia (all are welcome to register but the content has been developed with this focus).
This session provides a more in-depth overview of trauma and attachment with reference to children in Out-of-Home Care. It delves into the impact of adverse childhood experiences on children’s learning and development and introduces the concept of trauma aware practice.
The session will explore:
– Understanding the impacts of trauma
– Trauma informed practice
– How to support children in your classroom
– Self care
This training will be held face to face at the Department of Education’s office in Glen Waverley. There will not be a hybrid option, but there will be an online version of this training at a later date to ensure accessibility.
