SciencePlay PD/PL for EARLY YEARS educators
In this full day workshop, aimed for early years educators, run by a neurodivergent scientist and STEM communicator, Dr. Loz, you will explore a range of low-tech materials that you can use to engage all learners in your centre in more STEM based conversations and investigations, more often.
We will explore how different brains interact with information/ learning opportunities and how to ensure that all types of learners in your centre are able to access these opportunities. We’ll delve into what helps brains, all types of brains, push learnings into long term memory and then retrieve and apply it when needed. We’ll define who neurodivergent learners are, how they might navigate their world and help you recognise these individuals in your room. We’ll then fill up your toolbox with lots of ways to accommodate these learners and help them to access ALL the learning opportunities you create.
As participants, you will spend MOST of the day DOING all the things (no boring powerpoint presentations) and then take home a showbag of materials so you can take your learnings straight into the classroom. We’ll also give you access to loads of worksheets and lesson ideas.
A sensational lunch will be provided so if you have any dietary requirements, please let us know in advance.
