Billions of dollars of research funding have been spent on the paradigm of ‘fixing the child with autism’. However, many young people do not complete school and face later underemployment. This conversation will illuminate a global perspective on the psychological and environmental barriers to inclusion faced by young people with autism, reflecting on the role of the school and community in ensuring that every student, no matter their ability level, has a chance to reach their potential.
