The Palm Island Community Company (PICC) presents: Early Years Conference – Keeping Culture Strong

This year’s theme will be “Inclusivity”.

The PICC Early Years Conference welcomes everyone, especially if you are an educator, service provider, trainer, student, advocate, or anyone who works in the early childhood space. Expert presenters will share their knowledge on how to deliver best practice and creative ideas in the development of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children by Keeping Culture Strong with a strong emphasis on inclusiveness.

Some of the highlights include a keynote address from SNAICC CEO, Catherine Liddle, representing the voices of the next generation – our children; and a workshop from Dr Red Ruby Scarlet, from Multiverse who is passionate about creative, imaginative, inclusive practices – especially those that promote anti-bias, high quality art practices, respect for Aboriginal cultures and social justice.

Dr Karen Martin and Roslyn Von Senden, two strong and outstanding Aboriginal women who have many years of experience as leaders, lecturers, activists, and researchers in Early Childhood. All of our speakers will stimulate and challenge your thinking and processes regarding the inclusion of cultural practices in the education and of development our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children.
