Berry Street, the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health (AAIMH), the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC) and The Centre for Excellence in Child & Family Welfare (The Centre) are proud to partner to present the Nurturing Beginnings Forum.
The Forum will provide practice-rich learning opportunities for professionals working and leading in the infant, child and family sector across Australia. It will highlight evidence-informed practice; the importance of equity, diversity and inclusion, for families with infants and young children impacted by violence, trauma, neglect and other adversity; showcase best practice and innovation; and celebrate our diverse workforce.
There is compelling evidence from research and practice that demonstrate the significance of a child’s earliest years for their development and future outcomes, and our opportunity to do more in our work to advance their safety, development, and wellbeing.
The recommendations from Victoria’s Royal Commission into Family Violence and the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System highlighted the need for evidence-based interventions to be available for families with young children impacted by violence, trauma, and other adversity.
The ‘Nurturing Beginnings Forum’ will be a hybrid event with the in-person component hosted in Melbourne.
