Little Scientists Online Workshop: Leaders Training: Fostering a Rich STEM Culture in Your Team
How can I create a culture of STEM learning in my setting? How do I foster a passion for STEM within my team? These are two of the most common – and challenging – questions Little Scientists receives. While there’s no single answer or action that will allow you to achieve this overnight, one essential component of achieving a high-quality STEM learning environment is buy-in and training at the leadership level where resourcing, team culture, and curriculum decisions are made.
That’s why Little Scientists has scheduled this special two-hour workshop for Directors, Educational Leaders, Coordinators, and STEM champions working with children from 0-8 years. The aim is to develop leaders’ understanding of how to foster (and sustain) a rich STEM teaching culture within their teams and to explore the role of educators, environments, resources, documentation, and family engagement in achieving a high-quality STEM learning environment.
This workshop will include:
- An examination of current research on this topic.
- An exploration of the opportunities and challenges.
- Small group discussion.
- Individual reflection.
- Goal setting and planning (this can be linked to your service’s Quality Improvement Plan).
This interactive workshop is aligned with the EYLF 2.0. While it is designed for those in leadership positions, Little Scientists welcomes any educators who would like to participate.
Purchasing a ticket allows you to tune in live or via a recording. While we strongly encourage you to attend live, a recording will be shared via email following the event and can be viewed for 3 days after the email is sent. This workshop will be held on:
