“Knowing, Being, Doing: Aboriginal Pedagogy in Practice” Gosford Collaboration Event
May 10, 2025 - May 10, 2025
Gosford RSL, 26 Central Coast Highway, West Gosford, NSW, 2250
Join us for an inspiring full-day workshop led by esteemed presenters Jessica Staines from Koori Curriculum and Belinda Huntriss from Freshwater Education. This immersive experience is designed for educators eager to integrate Aboriginal perspectives into their teaching practices through exploring Aboriginal pedagogy.
Aboriginal pedagogy emphasises teaching through culture rather than simply about culture. Through this workshop, educators will explore the diverse ways Aboriginal peoples know, be, and do—fostering a deeper appreciation for
Aboriginal culture and its significance in education.
Jessica and Belinda, both experienced Aboriginal educators, will guide participants through hands-on activities that include Aboriginal art, storytelling, and forming connections with Country. This workshop offers practical experiences that will enable educators to critically reflect on their own practices, discover how to weave cultural perspectives into their everyday teaching and build cultural responsiveness.
