Young children are full of questions about Space: “What’s the Moon made of? Why do astronauts float? What does it sound like up there?” Have you ever wondered how to answer their big questions?

Blast off in time for Space Week with Little Scientists as we investigate the conditions in space and on the moon and explore gravity, air resistance and vacuums in this interactive online workshop. Learn techniques to better support children to lead their own Space-based discoveries through playful, inquiry-based learning, and add greater scientific depth and rigour to your investigations.

In the lead up to Space Week, join us to have some fun, let your imagination run wild, and learn alongside other early childhood educators from across the country. This interactive workshop consists of ONE 2 hour session and is happening in your time zone:

Thursday 14 September: 4-6pm (AEST), 2-4pm (AWST), 3.30-5.30pm (ACST)

You will receive a materials list to prepare in advance made up of everyday items in your home or service.

This online workshop is part of the Little Scientists Inspire STEM series, which will introduce the concepts, methods, and skills of inquiry-based STEM education to early childhood educators and teachers. Together, we will explore a range of simple techniques to cultivate children’s skills and excitement for STEM exploration and you will come away with a suite of hands-on STEM provocations to enrich your practice in your service or classroom.
