ECI Essentials #3: Family-centred and strengths-based practice
ECI Essentials #3: ‘Family-centred and strengths-based practice’ is a half-day workshop designed to provide participants with:
- An overview of the principles and rationale of family-centred and strengths-based practices
- An understanding of why family-centred and strengths-based practices provide better outcomes for children and families
- The knowledge and skills to confidently guide families through this practice
- The ability to recognise both the opportunities and challenges when using family-centred strength-based approaches
Workshop objectives:
- Share the evidence and fundamental importance of applying family-centred and strengths-based practices with families
- Understand the principles and rationale of family-centred and strengths-based practices
- Identify the knowledge and skills required to guide families through this approach
- Understand the ability to recognise opportunities and challenges when using family-centred and strengths-based approaches and how to navigate them

- All ECI stakeholders and practitioners – health, allied health, educators, community organisations, and caregivers
- Early Childhood stakeholders and educators
- NDIS stakeholders and ECEI Coordinators
