Early Years Commitment Live Forum
In June this year, Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, Sarah Mitchell, announced the Early Years Commitment. The Commitment is an historic new investment by the NSW Government to transform early childhood education and care, child development and women’s economic participation in NSW. It is a commitment to change the future for children and families across the state.
The Early Years Commitment includes:
- Universal pre-kindergarten the year before primary school, for every child by the end of the decade
- Affordable Preschool Program
- Investment in our workforce
- Affordable and Accessible Childcare and Economic Participation Fund
- Brighter Beginnings
To mark this historic step for our sector, CELA will be hosting a forum with NSW Education, open to CELA members and the wider sector. The forum will give us the opportunity to hear directly from Government on what the announcements and coming investments will mean for the future of the sector. The forum will also provide an opportunity for questions on the Early Years Commitment directly from you.
Our forum guests from NSW Education will be:

- Liam Findlay – Associate Executive Director, Early Childhood Education Commission
- Sarah Hurcombe – Executive Lead, Pre-Kindergarten
