International experts will address Western Australia’s largest gathering of education and development professionals at the 2019 Early Childhood Learning and Development (ECLD19) Conference, to be held 29 and 30 March at Crown Perth.
This event provides a collaborative learning environment featuring international and national keynote speakers, and practical workshops for thought leaders, educators, academics, allied health professionals and other critically important practitioners working with children.

World-renowned neuroscience expert Dr Lou Cozolino from the US will be one of the acclaimed keynote speakers at the event, sharing insights on interpersonal neurobiology and how early experiences can truly shape a child. He will also guide conference delegates through practical strategies on developing their own environments to help nurture healthy attachment patterns and resilient psyches in children.

Dr Nat Kendall-Taylor, CEO of the US-based Frame Works Institute is an expert in psychological anthropology and communications science, and will also be making a keynote address. Dr Kendall-Taylor will take delegates through the science of reframing critical messages particularly for difficult or challenging conversations with parents or colleagues.

Other speakers include:

  • Mr Peter Hutton – Director of the Future Schools Alliance. Mr Hutton’s strength is his transformational insight and how to implement change in schools. He is a revolutionary leader who is currently working with many schools to help change the future of education across Australia.
  • Dr Justin Coulson – a leading Australian relationship expert widely recognised for his ‘no-nonsense’ approach to parenting. Dr Coulson has worked with leading organisations on positive psychology, wellbeing and resilience.
  • Not only is ECLD19 a great opportunity to absorb a wealth of knowledge from these exceptional keynotes, but it provides a platform for educators to develop their practice knowledge with sessions by key sector experts such as Professor Caroline Fewster, Dr Sandra Hesterman and Liam McNicholas to name a few, plus over 25 concurrent session presenters.

The conference will encourage critically reflective thinking and provide a showcase of professional development resources and technology products to support practitioners in their role.

Lotterywest has provided their support for this event by subsidising registration, travel and accommodation costs for regional and remote attendees from not-for-profit early learning organisations.
