Amy Conley Wright is Professor of Child and Family Social Work at the University of Sydney and Director of the Research Centre for Children and Families. She is an American and an Australian citizen.
Amy holds a personal and professional interest in strengthening supports and connections to family. As part of her own family’s journey, Amy has recently discovered her Native American ancestry through her paternal line and descent from First Nations including Cherokee and Creek peoples.
She is also passionate about child and family advocacy. Her lived experience as the parent of a child with Autism fuels her passion for promoting a good life and social inclusion for people living with disabilities, and their families and carers, and social change through policy advocacy to improve the lives of all children and families.
Amy holds a BA in Child Development & Public Policy from Boston University and a Masters of Social Work and PhD in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley.
