Gold Coast Region - TBC

Australian Childcare Alliance Queensland (ACA Qld) have partnered with our Supporter Member ParentTV to deliver this amazing professional development opportunity presented by international renowned expert, Jason Gibson.

Even with our best efforts to help all children succeed in the early learning classroom, there are times when problem behaviours may interrupt the opportunity for everyone to reach their full potential. In this engaging workshop, Jason Gibson will share practical strategies that can be immediately implemented. Operating from a strengths-based perspective, these evidence-based assessment and intervention practices have the potential to maximize child engagement and minimize disruptions.

In this 2 hour workshop, participants will be able to:

  • identify a minimum of 4 reasons for misbehaviour in the early learning classroom.
  • implement a minimum of 4 behavioural intervention strategies that increase children’s’ success and reduce disruptive behavior.
  • implement 2 parent collaboration strategies to support behavioural success in the early learning setting.

Jason Gibson is a learning and behavioral consultant working with early learning centers, schools and treatment facilities supporting children and adolescents with social, emotional or behavioral issues. With degrees in psychology, social work, and education,  Jason’s peer-reviewed research has been published in journals such as “Topics in Early Childhood Special Education”, “Closing the Gap”, and “Education and Treatment of Children with Developmental Disabilities”.
