Location
Richmond VIC, Australia
Contract
Full Time
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Uniting, in partnership with Victorian Department of Education and Parkville Institute are operating the first Intensive Early Childhood Education and Care Research trial. This service located in Richmond will seek to determine whether children, recruited with the same eligibility criteria as those in the trial project, can achieve the same remarkable learning and development outcomes. This will be one of three research sites established in Australia.
The service will operate with lower child to staff ratios, with a maximum of 48 children attending 5 hours per day Monday to Friday with all educators and teachers employed full-time. Staff will be supported by a multidisciplinary leadership team, including a full-time Centre Director, Pedagogical Leader and part-time Infant Mental Health Consultant and Family Support Practitioner. Diploma qualified educators collaborate with a qualified early childhood teacher in each room, to assess and plan for their primary children.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to research that could shape the future of the early childhood sector in Australia.
“Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in an ECEC centre where the ratios were better, the group sizes small, you had two hours every day out of the room for planning, mentorship and coaching and where you could make a significant difference in the lives of children and families? The Uniting Safe Haven initiative will have those conditions and more. I’m looking forward to working with you!” -Dr Anne Kennedy
