The Remote & Isolated Children’s Exercise Inc. (RICE) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been successfully operating in South Australia for 48 years.  Our mission is to ensure children and families in Outback South Australia have access to quality early years services, including education and childcare, that are not readily available due to geographical location.

Based in Port Augusta SA, RICE covers an area of approximately 650,000 square kilometres, educators travel by 4WD vehicles to visit families and communities. The organisation boasts a unique range of services from children aged birth to 12 years including a mobile activity program and creche services in Hawker and Orroroo. RICE also hosts the preschool program for those children who can not attend preschool due to geographical distance.

We are looking for some one who can

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the organisation in line with legislative requirements, company policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership and guidance to all staff.
• Ensure quality early learning programs are delivered by a passionate team of Educators.
• Effectively manage the financial requirements of the centre in line with budget guidelines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, families, children and communities
• Work with a progressive and enthusiastic Board who are looking forward to growing and developing RICE into the future.

A little about you

 A National Quality Frameworks approved qualification.  Degree qualified desirable, diploma level will be considered along with significant management and leadership experience.

Must hold a full current driver licence and a willingness to obtain:

• WWCC and National Police Clearance
• Safe Environments for Children and Young People certification.
• Current First Aid in an education setting.
• 4WD training
•     Must be able to fulfill the Family Assistance Law requirements for a person responsible for the day to day management and control of a service – this will include a PRODA account.
