Hamilton’s is looking for an experienced Early Learning Centre Director who will work closely with Harbour E.L Management in establishing a brand-new, purpose-built , innovative, early learning Centre in Vaucluse, opening July 2023.
Harbour Early Learning promises to provide an early learning program which engages with a values lead philosophy “to provide excellence in pedagogy and practice ”, research focused, inclusive practices and a commitment to creating a sense of belonging for all, advocating for the rights of children, families and staff. We are wanting to create an early learning space like no other with ECTs leading each group, better than standard ratios, a beautiful environment and a research inspired curriculum.
About the Program:
Harbour Early Learning Vaucluse is a brand new purpose built Centre and has been designed in consultation with specialist and highly respected and accomplished early childhood professionals in creating an early childhood education and care space for children that is beautiful, safe, joyous to be in; and feels as welcoming as being home.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic early education and care leader who has :
- Demonstrated experience working in early childhood education and successfully lead a collaborative, cohesive team
- Demonstrated a commitment to research-based practice and pedagogy
- Evidence of excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to develop relationships and engagement with children, staff, families, community, and Harbour E.L Management conveying respect and being ethical and professional at all times
- Sound understanding of legislative standards of compliance, including Child Protection, Privacy, Work Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, COVID-19 safety
- A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education is essential along with a minimum 3 years’ experience in an Early Learning Centre Director position.

THE ROLE – What will you be doing each day:
Harbour E.L Management are passionate about striving to provide the highest quality early childhood education and care which starts with employing an exceptional leader. In this role you will provide empathetic, ethical and excellence in leadership in the following areas:
Compliance:
- Fulfill the requirements and responsibilities of the Nominated Supervisor
- Prior to the early learning centre opening you will be hands on in all aspects relating to establishment of a new early learning program This includes building the team, enrolments, curriculum development and planning; implementing systems and processes that align with the Centre’s Philosophy …..‘to honour the rights of the child and provide excellence’.
The Team:
- Nurturing a new team
- Effectively build positive relationships in a manner that is fair, inclusive, and respectful of all staff
- Supporting the team in the delivery of high-quality programs
- Leading and supporting the team to meet and exceed the National Quality Standards
- Developing the team through provision of, and supporting them to access ongoing professional learning and development.
- Setting up processes and practices around daily operations that uphold the rights and responsibilities of children, families and staff.
Daily operations:
- Work with Harbour E.L Management to promote the program, boost enrolments by creating an innovative, research rich program and communicate effectively with families and community.
- Effectively build positive relationships in a manner that is fair, inclusive, and respectful of all staff
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
- Work collaboratively with our local community of Vaucluse
- Ensure the safety and physical care of children, and respond to their emotional needs to maintain trust, develop nurturing relationships, guide positive relationships, and ensure the dignity and rights of each child are maintained.
