SA to open four new early years hubs as preschool reforms accelerate

South Australia will open four new early years hubs from Term 4, bringing forward its three-year-old preschool rollout. The investment also extends Kindy Care and adds more than 2,000 long day care places from 2026.

The South Australian Government has expanded its School Loans Scheme to include infrastructure projects for standalone preschools, including those not located on school sites. The change forms part of preparations for the planned rollout of three-year-old preschool from 2026.

One million books delivered through ILF’s Book Supply program to remote communities

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation has delivered its one millionth book to a remote community, marking a major milestone for its Book Supply program. The initiative now supports more than 495 communities each year with culturally relevant books, more than half of which are created by First Nations authors and illustrators.

40 new preschools for Western Sydney families 

The New South Wales Government has awarded contracts for the design and construction of more than 40 new public preschools, co-located with existing public schools, which collectively will offer places for up to 3,600 children a week across Western Sydney.
