ECEC workforce invited to have their say in national survey
Early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals across Australia are being invited to participate in a national workforce survey, aimed at building a clearer understanding of the experiences, views and wellbeing of those working in the sector.
The confidential survey, which takes less than 10 minutes to complete, is open to educators, teachers, educational leaders, directors, managers and coordinators in ECEC settings. It forms part of a broader effort to inform national policy and workforce planning with a focus on improving employment conditions, strengthening workplace culture, and supporting attraction and retention across the sector.
Survey topics include:
- staff wellbeing and job satisfaction
- perspectives on working in early childhood education and care
- key factors influencing workforce stability, including conditions and support.
Responses will be de‑identified and analysed to provide the government with robust insights into workforce challenges and opportunities, helping to shape future strategies that better reflect the lived experience of educators.
Conducted by independent research company ORIMA Research, the survey is voluntary and participants will go into the draw to win one of 50 $200 vouchers.
An email invitation will be sent from [email protected], and services are encouraged to share the link and promotional resources with their teams. Posters, flyers and email templates are available through the survey portal to help services spread the word.
The survey closes on Monday 15 December 2025.
