Embedding healthy habits, sustainability, and community connection in every service.

Story House Early Learning is proud to announce a national first partnership with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, now embedded in every one of their services across Australia.

Fostering healthy habits and lifelong curiosity

This exciting collaboration marks a significant milestone in Story House’s commitment to fostering healthy habits, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in young children.

By integrating hands-on gardening and cooking experiences into our everyday programs, educators are creating meaningful opportunities for children to explore food, sustainability, and community connections from the ground up.

At the Story House Mernda service, the program has come to life in colourful and creative ways. Children worked alongside celebrated muralist Danielle Weber to co-create two stunning garden-inspired murals. The artwork reflects the vibrancy and joy that the Kitchen Garden Program brings, not just to the environments, but to the hearts and minds of the children and families within them.

Moments that matter

From the flutter of galahs and magpies paying regular visits to the moving sight of a nonna and her grandson picking tomatoes together in the community garden, these moments remind us of the powerful relationships that flourish when children are given the space to grow, explore, and connect.

A shared vision for healthier futures

Story House believes in learning that is sensory, shared, and deeply rooted in the world around us. Explore the partnership with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program here.
