CCSA to support NSW educators in Mobile and Occasional Care with changes

Changes have been made to the governing legislation for NSW State Regulated Education and Care Services (also known as ‘’Out of Scope Services”), with Community Connections Solutions Australia (CCSA) set to support educators and approved providers to navigate the changes made to the space. 

Mobile Education and Care Services (MECS) and Occasional Education and Care Services (OECS) will be brought into scope under new legislative changes. The alignment with the national system means families and children in NSW will benefit from the same safeguards and quality benchmarks. CCSA has been advocating for these changes.

Early childhood teachers working in occasional care and mobile services in NSW will also need to be accredited by 1 October 2019 by NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

CCSA has been funded by NSW Department of Education to support Mobile and Occasional care services with this transition. CCSA is rolling out state wide face-to-face workshops and webinars, and there is a dedicated webpage for resources along with a telephone hotline for questions.
